About
Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not-for-profit human development organization which is registered as a Private Voluntary Organization (PVO 17/22). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver
innovative and sustainable high impact integrated health interventions with local communities while working with and strengthening existing institutions.
Basic Function
The Board Members will be responsible for promoting the vision and values of ZHI, setting the strategic direction of the organization and ensure that ZHI meets its legal and regulatory obligations.
Job Description
Promote the vision and values of ZHI; Set the strategic direction of the organisation; Monitor the implementation, achievement of results and impact; Ensure prudent management of ZHI operations including institution of relevant policies and their approval and adoption; Ensure ZHI has the proper resources to fulfil its mission and objectives; Actively participate in the resource mobilization for the organization; Ensure ZHI meets its legal and regulatory obligations; Actively participate in board meetings and sub-committees; Serve on at least 1 sub-committee; Appoint and review the performance of the Executive Director and Senior Management Team.
Knowledge, Skills and abilities

Qualifications and experience
Holder of a Public Health, Epidemiology, MBChB degree or equivalent; At least 10 years of experience in the health and NGO sector; Postgraduate qualifications in public health, epidemiology or related field is an added advantage; Registration with the relevant professional authority is required; Experience in working within the MOHCC structures at management level is an added advantage; Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing capacity of local organisations; Or holder of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in law or any other relevant field and registered with the Law Society of Zimbabwe; A master’s degree is an added advantage; At least 10 years of experience of providing legal advice in Zimbabwe; Deep knowledge of Zimbabwe legislation; Experience in dealing with donor funded organisations is preferred;
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing capacity of local organisations.
