Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) joins the rest of the world in celebrating the International Education Day. The main thrust of the Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) PEPFAR funded DREAMS-RISE Project is to prevent HIV infection amongst Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged 10-24 years. This project is reducing HIV among AGYW by keeping girls in school through:
- Payment of school fees for learners in formal and PTCE learning.
- Provision of uniforms and stationery for learners.
- Provision of menstrual hygiene packs.
In the past year the, the project has reached over 4000 learners with educational subsidies. Secondly the project is working with schools and teachers to deliver an evidence-based curriculum on HIV prevention for its in-school component.
