About

Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not-for-profit human development organisation which is registered as a Trust under the Zimbabwe Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high impact integrated health interventions with local communities while working with and strengthening existing institutions.
The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women (DREAMS) Program aims to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among OVC, OVC caregivers and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Zimbabwe. The DREAMS program is being implemented in priority high HIV burden districts in Zimbabwe. ZHI’s primary role is to deliver a comprehensive curriculum on HIV prevention, gender norms and social asset building targeted at AGYW in school, out of school and their sexual partners at community level. ZHI’s core thrust in the DREAMS Program is to keep girls and young women HIV Free through supporting them to; Stay in school; Prevent early pregnancies; Prevent sexual violence; Access Post violence care; Reduce child marriage. DREAMS provides a comprehensive, multi-sectoral package of core interventions to address key factors that make girls and young women particularly vulnerable to HIV. These include structural factors, such as gender-based violence, exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school. DREAMS layers multiple interventions at once so that AGYW are surrounded with critical support to keep them safe from HIV and other risks.


Basic Function

The District Strategic Information Evaluation Assistant works under the direct supervision of the District SIE Officer and will work to support the Regional Strategic Information Evaluation Officer, District Project Coordinators, District facilitators, Club facilitators in M and E related activities for ZHI at district level. S/he collaborates closely with other colleagues at facility level to provide data management support.


Job Description

Assist the DSIEO in the collection, reviewing and analysis of program related indicators as well as provide strategic information for ongoing program implementation and management; Assist the DSIEO in performing routine data quality checks (timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and consistency of district outputs) in the different databases and SharePoint documents; Capture and verify entered data by reviewing, correcting, changing or deleting entered information in DHIS2 database; Establish entry priorities by maintaining understanding of what data needs to be entered first; Assist in the monitoring of daily data entry trackers and individual targets; Prepare, sort and check all clients’ records for verification and making sure that accurate data is being entered on the registers and in DHIS2 database; Secure entered information by performing routine data backups as required; Support the DSIEO in DATIM data entry semi-annually; Assist in routine and ad hoc data collection rounds; Assist in preparing regular field monitoring reports on activity implementation, progress made and provide appropriate feedback to DSIEO; Participate in district monthly RDQA activities and ad hoc internal SIMS; Attend referral working group meetings and other SIE DREAMS IPs collaborative engagements; Support in the review and checking of data generated in line with the DREAMS M and E reporting requirements; Provide assistance in CLA activities and surveys at district level; Check completed work for accuracy, consistence and completeness, liaise with supervisor for incomplete records and make any required changes as required; Assist DSIEO in follow-up of outstanding issues with the field teams to ensure data quality for the program and provide appropriate feedback to District team; Ensures a proper filing system for both hard and soft copies; Produce automated data entry and integration reports when requested; Use data for District planning, programming and assessment of performance.


Knowledge, Skills and abilities

Sound knowledge and experience regarding data management and well-developed computer skills; Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, consultants and recipients of assistance; Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision; Demonstrated attention to detail; ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently as well as cooperatively with team members.


Qualifications and experience

Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Demography, or any related field; At least one-year relevant experience in providing M and E support for community HIV programs; Sound practical knowledge in using computer programs; Good reading and writing skills.
