About
Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not-for-profit human development organization which is registered as a Trust under the Zimbabwe Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high impact integrated health interventions with local communities while working with and strengthening existing institutions.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Financial Analyst based at the National Office to support a portfolio of projects including the Re-Ignite, Sustain and Empower (RISE), and the Accelerated and Comprehensive HIV Care and Treatment for Epidemic Control in Zimbabwe (ACCE), which are five-year projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Basic Function
Reporting to the Head of Finance HoF, the Financial Analyst will coordinate financial operations, including overall financial monitoring and support/guidance to projects, to ensure the fiscal well-being of supported projects. S/he provides financial management and guidance, conducts analyses of financial data, provides budget analyses for project funds, and reviews and prepares financial dashboard of the organisation. S/he proactively guides and supports respective financial success by providing high level analytical expertise, implementing business strategies and developing strong customer relationships. Monitors the indirect/overhead budget and support with all payments at organizational level including payroll.
Job Description
• Support the HoF on the preparation of financial and management reports to the Board of Trustees, Senior Management Team (SMT).
• Support the HoF on managing organisational finances and treasury functions
• Support the HoF on developing and tracking overhead budget for the organisation
• Responsible for processing of payroll and other organisational payments, reconciliations on corporate bank account.
• Prepares financial dashboard for the organisation, consolidation of all financial reports from the projects.
• Assist the HoF on coordinating USAID and statutory audits for the organisation
• Creates, reviews, and monitors multiple program budgets with annual budgets.
• Collaborates with staff from other teams and other offices to update cost-to-complete analyses periodically.
• Assists in subaward management, including assessment of capacity and review and monitoring of budgets and expenditures.
• Provides on-site and remote financial technical assistance to project staff and provides guidance on policy and regulations related to procurement and compliance.
• Interprets and provides explanation for discrepancies and variations in financial data.
• Manages sub recipient financial reports by reconciling US based sub recipients with the General Ledger accounts.
• Reviews and analyzes subaward tracking system, manages partner payments and collaborates on financial close outs of sub recipients.
• Processes invoices from sub-awardees, consultants and other vendors, and processes travel expense reports for the corporate level staff.
• Analyzes and resolves moderately complex challenges.
• Uses financial systems to produce reports, analysis, financial models and databases.
Knowledge, Skills and abilities
• Knowledge of U.S. Government grants, contracting and auditing standards as they apply to effective management of multi-year funds.
• Must demonstrate excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Non-governmental organization (NGO), government, or private sector experience preferred.
• Works under very general supervision.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet software required.
• Ability to travel 10-15%
Qualifications and experience
• Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or Related related discipline;
• CPA, CA, ACCA or an equivalent is an added advantage
• 5 years of progressively responsible accounting, finance and operational management
