About

Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not for profit human development organisation which is registered as a Trust under the Zimbabwe Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high impact integrated health interventions with local communities while working with and strengthening existing institutions.

Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is implementing the USAID-funded Zimbabwe HIV Care and Treatment (ZHCT) project in 5 districts of Manicaland province as a sub-awardee under FHI360. The overall goal of the ZHCT project is to increase the availability and quality of care and treatment services for people living with HIV (PLHIV) by complimenting the Ministry of Health and Child Care’s (MOHCC) efforts towards HIV epidemic control in Zimbabwe. The project provides technical assistance and direct service delivery across the continuum of comprehensive HIV clinical care, including cervical cancer screening and treatment.


Scope Of Work

We are currently seeking a Consultant to provide training services for Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP).


Consultancy Objective


The primary focus of the Consultant is to provide LEEP training to Government Medical Officers in Manicaland Province. The LEEP trainer is an experienced Gynaecologist stationed at a Provincial, General or District Hospital which provides LEEP services within the Manicaland Province who will conduct LEEP training for Government Medical Officers within the Province. The cadre will work closely with health facility leadership, the Manicaland ZHCT Project Provincial Manager and the ZHCT Technical Officer, Cervical Cancer Services.

Training of Government Medical Officers in LEEP at a facility approved by the supervisor and MOHCC authorities. 5 days Conduct 5-days’ training session for GMOs and submit a training report. 5 – 9 July 2021

Application Requirements

The consultant should have the following prerequisite qualifications and requirements,



  • MMed Obstetrics and Gynecology or equivalent.

  • Registered with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe.

  • 5 years’ relevant experience in cervical cancer screening and treatment (including management of complications).

  • At least 2 years’ experience providing LEEP in a teaching environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide standard LEEP services for eligible clients and impart the same skills to other health care providers.

The proposal should detail the following;



  • Understanding of the Terms of Reference; A capacity statement including demonstrated ability to handle the assignment.

  • A detailed plan of conducting the exercise, with clear description of the methodology and outline of the training.

  • Cost breakdown detailing consultancy and any other related costs.

  • Evidence of previous experience related to LEEP training including contact details of recent organisations where similar services of the consultant have been utilised.


 


Payment conditions


Consultant will be paid a daily rate and will be paid within 30 days of completion of the assignment, subject to applicable taxes, after approval by Executive Director.
